A day at the beach..

Enoshima and Kamakura

Yes, while in Enoshima we went to the beach. Although I think our friend’s son had the most fun!

Good to see people put tents up for themselves and dogs

Enoshima and Kamakura

As at any beach there was a lot going on which we could see – passing churros to one another before going on the ski boats

The odd cyclist

We also had a frisbee, which ended up being used as a digging tool for sand. We were happy to leave it behind! You can also get ice creams –

However we didn’t have that… I enjoyed a Japanese dessert of mochi and ice cream, and Kym had a mochi-waffle… which is not pictured but it was better with ice cream and his green ten latte!

Of course when you’ve finished at the beach you have to catch a tram

At the end of the day we walk up the path to the Shrine in Kamakura

We also enjoyed a great meal together with our friends at the end of day – thanks Gaku Ryoko and Shota for a great day out! We look forward to seeing you again

Mt Fuji

It’s elusive.. but magnificent when you can see it. As it’s spring it’s a bit hit and miss of being able to see Mt Fuji.

Bike with Fuji

However, we were lucky on the first day at Enoshima at being able to see it while riding- sugoi (amazing in Japanese – language characters don’t work on this blog, and there are mistakes I always have to fix!)

One of our Brompton friends Takero joined us for the day and played tour guide.

We found a good coffee shop

Enoshima

We cleaned our money at a temple to bring us fortune.

Enoshima

We went to see the large Buddha- I like the sandals!

Kamakura

Cycling along the beach was fun – a lot like home. There are a number of roadies cycling fast between Kamakura and Enoshima – and a few slower people like us enjoying the view. As expected there were a number of picnics on the beach – I was impressed by the effort these people went to!
