We had a few hours while transiting… towards the end a person was calling out “kwaka-san” and “Della-Torre-san”. Just like that we were upgraded to Business- woo-hoo! Lay flat bed… and fabulous Japanese food
what else could you ask for? Okay,
Less turbulence would of been nice.. but at least I managed to sleep. Well if I was being honest it would also be my suitcase. When we arrived after getting through immigration, my name was on a notice sign next to the remaining suitcases waiting to be taken. After some conversation with a staff member, it turns out my suitcase did not leave Melbourne… and would be in Tokyo the next day. On the positive side getting to the hotel for me was easier on public transport as I only had my bicycle suitcase!
Beeline says 8.3km
Google says 11.1km
But we took 16.4 km…
That’s the joy of random riding in T?kyo.
We made it – now we have a queue.

It’s a good motto – especially for the Mori Digital Art Museum. After cycling awhile to Odaiba to get there – it was a fabulous experience and well worth it.
These days your local public library might have a interactive screen which projects images into the ground, which you can change. After visiting this place – I realise they are really are not worth it on a small scale.
You walk around and many of the images move from one gallery (room) to another. It’s a great place for kids… and big kids too.
We also enjoyed cold tea (infused with yuzu and matcha ice cream… from which flowers bloomed digitally each time you moved your bowl – amazing. We had such a good time!
We also share some “instant” photos on Instagram. Some of the highlights are below.
Helen and friends admiring a model of a royal occasion in Naha.
Coffee at our ‘local’ in Tokyo.
Christmas beer!
Random train shot.
Customised digital art.
Bikes near Shibuya Stream.
Every good riding tour has a rest day, today is ours. Okinawa is large… so it’s not possible to cycle where we want to visit. So it’s a rest day, and we travel by bus. I enjoy cycling but it will be good to see outside the city.
Breakfast was… as featured below. Pizza is always a good option- even if it is dessert pizza.
